Well hello there....

Hiiiiiiiiiii

I have been a very bad blogger. This blog has been up for what? Almost a month? And this is my first post!

Oh. Wait. I should introduce myself to blog readers.

You can call me Joie. I am the second blogger in our little blogging trio. I've been really into blogging ever since starting my book blog (and by book blog I mean my baby) a while ago. I love reading (in case you couldn't tell), watching TV shows for hours on end, Avenger movie marathons, manga, book boyfriends, italian food that I don't have to make myself, dessert made by the Old Fashioned Girl (yummmm), shopping, and sleeping. I'm also a huge procrastinator... hence, this very belated post.

I love gifs. Like, a lot. I may use them very often in my posts.
And, just for the record, I pronounce them as JIFF. Yeah. Deal with it.

I may or may not abuse caps lock and key smash as a way to express myself rather than using coherent sentences.

Well I suppose I'll leave it at that. I am a firm believer that one must not reveal one's innate weirdness upon the first meeting lest the other person ends up running away screaming, so... yeah. Until my next post, then.

A Drive

I have finally gotten my drivers liscence, and I have been using it! I have been driving to school for several weeks now, and every morning, the same Q&A session happens with my poor dear parents.

" Daaaaaddy darlin'? Can I take your car to school?"

"No. You can take the minivan."

"Maaaaaaaaaaama, may I drive your car to school?"

"No, dear. Take the minivan."

And off I careen in the brick-like minivan. Sure, it has brakes and it goes, but I prefer Dad's sporty little toyota, or Mom's P.T. Cruiser (um, convertable!).

Today, however, I got to take the convertable because Mom needed the minivan to drive on a school field trip.

I griped about the parking in the convertable, because it practically has the turn radius of an eighteen wheeler, but after school, after chatting with some friends in the parking lot, my sister and I rolled down the roof (it is 57*) and we glided home, sunglasses on and blond hair waving.

Actually, I only thought to roll down the roof when we stopped at the dry cleaners.

Of course, the ride home wasn't quite as glamourous as it might seem. While I concentrated on the road, my sister switched the channels. First, we listened to a BBC radio special about the meat-processing scandel in the Netherlands, then a folk music marathon.

I know it is really naughty to laugh while you're driving, but I certainly laughed when we got home.

Introduction

Good afternoon. I have joined up with a two friends to form a blog to combine our different personas, and as a fun way to stay in touch with each other as we venture out into the world of college and beyond.

It seems that I get to be the first to post.

I am blond. I love to cook and bake, and will subsequently post recipes here. I am trying to learn how to take good pictures. This isn't my only blog. I am an irredeemable cat person. I love to read. I read a lot. I am a history buff. My mother can't eat wheat, so I consider it a great boon when I discover a good gluten-free recipe.

Perhaps I'll post a recipe for tomorrow, but for today I will conclude my little hello, and sign off using the moniker that I have adopted for my other blog,
